Curtis Dionne is a glass artist and craftsman firmly planted on the bay of fundy shore in the pristine coastline of New Brunswick. The rural and natural setting has provided me the space and inspiration to grow as an individual and focus on the process of making glass and connection to the material.
Though I have been creating glass objects for nearly 2 decades, it is in the past decade that I have developed my unique processing wood firing the glass. Beginning with the raw materials of silica sand, limestone and potash along with building the heat from match and kindling has brought me even closer to the nature of the material. My work is a celebration of movement, light and colour. This expression of motion is a reflection of timing, serendipity and the effects of our movements and actions on our surroundings as we all flow through our stream of consciousness. Curtis is now located in Kingston Ontario! Find his work at Bazaar today.
